It converts DVD movies to iPhone-compatible formats

2.8.0 (See all)

Clone2Go DVD to iPhone Converter has been specifically designed to help you convert DVD movies to iPhone-compatible formats. This is particularly useful when you intend to watch a clip on a portable device. However, it supports a much wider range of both input and output formats.

The application features an intuitive interface, whose design favors the conversion workflow of selecting a source, picking an output format and converting. As it supports batch conversion, it all starts when you add jobs to a list. The tool supports importing files not only from such DVD sources as discs and folders but also from standard media files. In addition, it allows capturing video from a DV camcorder and downloading clips from video sharing sites. The videos can be previewed, and while you do that, you can set start and end times to extract a given segment. Unfortunately, no other basic editing action is available.

Target profiles are available to facilitate the decision of setting conversion parameters. These profiles have been classed according to their purpose and supporting devices. This way, if you select a profile classed as compatible with Apple iPhone, you can be sure the resulting files will be readily playable on your device. Although these profiles can be edited to match your specific needs, I did not find a way to save them for re-utilization.

In general, more than a specific media converter as its name suggests, Clone2Go DVD to iPhone Converter is actually a general-purpose media converter supporting several sources and formats. You should be aware that this might be a strategy by its developer to sell very similar products under different names. However, I have absolutely no reason to complain about its functioning.
